Celebrate Canada Day the old fashioned way at Heritage Park. July 1st, 2011 marks Dominion Day at the Park, family fun all day long, western entertainment, and birthday cake.
Activities include; a Citizenship Ceremony at noon welcoming 100 new Canadian citizens, Birthday cake, potato sack races & other games, crafts, street performers, an old-fashioned circus, musicians and more!!
The first 2011 guests who pay regular admission and arrive between 9:30am and 10:30 a.m. will enjoy a complimentary pancake breakfast, served hot off the grill in the Celebration Tent.

Celebrate in Banff on Friday, July 1st, 2011:

5:00 p.m. Canada Day Parade
The Town of Banff in the middle of the majestic Rockies is the perfect place to celebrate Canada's birthday on July 1st of each year. This year’s line up of activities is not to be missed.
A typical Canada Day starts off with a pancake breakfast at Canada Place hosted by Parks Canada. Entertainment starts back downtown at Central Park with all day entertainment on the Louis Trono Gazebo and Stampede stages.
The 2011 Parade runs the length of Banff Avenue starting promptly at 5 p.m. After the parade, head back to Central Park for an evening of great entertainment. Performances run until 11 p.m. when the day’s events end with our always spectacular fireworks show.
Best of all, entry into Banff National Park is free on July 1. Parking in the townsite is limited, so plan accordingly. Take advantage of our Roam public transit bus system to get you around town.

Perhaps one of Race Day's greatest attractions features modern-day cowboys, farmers and local acreage owners competing in the Millarville Derby. The Derby is a 7 furlong race for local riders and their stock horses under a western saddle. The stock horse race is at 12:30 p.m. Always a rousing event! Be a part of this great western tradition by joining the community at the Millarville Races this Canada Day.

Canada Day is Calgary's largest single day festival with crowds of 100,000+. Calgarians look forward to this free annual festival experience that includes national, regional and local bands, roving performers, hands-on activities, games, crafts, food, and a great deal more.
Celebrate Canada's 144th birthday with family and friends on Prince's Island Park on Friday, July 1st, from Noon to 6:00 p.m. The Island will be alive with music, live entertainment, food, and festivities. Three stages will be jam packed with live music and entertainment for all ages and interests.
But the festivities don't end there. Join in the evening at Olympic Plaza and keep the party going with more food, entertainment and fireworks -- a great ending to another fantastic birthday celebration!
